Today's inspiration came from the fact that I had no clue how to make a Karate related dessert for a Karate cookout! So I decided that all the little people that were part of the team were smurfs...So I made smurf cupcakes! Easy enough, right?
So here's what I did.
Items needed:
Favorite cupcakes
Vanilla icing (2-3 jars of store bought or a double recipe of homemade)
Blue food coloring
Premade candy eyes (available at your local Michaels, JoAnns, or Walmart store)
Instructions:
1. Make your favorite cupcakes according to the instructions and let cool completely. I made regular vanilla cupcakes and put a little bit of blue food coloring in them!
2. Place blue food coloring in 3/4'S of the vanilla icing and mix well until color is consistant.
3. Pipe blue icing on cooled cupcakes be sure to stack the icing tall...You use ALOT of icing for these guys.
4. Pipe a small round nose.
5. Pipe some white hats on top...I made sure to drop the corner of the hat down.
6.. Place the premade eyes just above the nose and BAM! Smurf's
See...If I can do it...I know you can ;)
So here are a few photos of my smurfs.

Chuck E Cheese Cupcake Toppers!
Today's blog is brought to you by...well ME! And the inspiration came from my boyfriends amazing sister in law :) She contacted me sometime last week inquiring about making some cupcakes for a birthday. The theme was Chuck E Cheese! So here was pretty much our exact conversation...
A: So would you be interested in making Will's party cupcakes? I will pay you.
M: Of course and you don't have to pay! What design do you want?
A: Can you do Chuck E Cheese style?
M: Chuck E Cheese style??? As in the mouse?? (In my head I was thinking...Ummm how the HELL do you want me to make a damn mouse! I am NOT a professional!)
A: Yep. (She was thinking...You totally got this.)
So after our conversation...I thought...and thought...and thought some more...I had NO clue how I was going to pull this off! I searched on good ol Pinterest and google for ideas...and got NOTHING. All the ideas I saw were all fondant and I HATE the taste of fondant and let's be honest here I am so NOT a professional and you need to know a little about fondant and sculpting to make a freaking mouse! So I came up with my own idea and I must say I L.O.V.E it! So here is what I did:
I made Chuck E Cheese mice out of melted chocolate!!! :::Applause:::
Items needed:
Wax Paper
Tape
Design (Printed in REVERSE on paper or drawn in REVERSE!)
Chocolate Melted (I used candy melts in the following colors: Yellow, Purple, Green, Pink, White, and Black) but you can always melt your own white chocolate and color with OIL-based coloring
Candy writing pens (I used Black and Red)
Flat baking sheet
Piping bags (no tips necessary!)
Scissors
Instructions:
1. Place your reversed design on the back of the flat baking sheet and tape it down
2. Place a sheet of wax paper on top of the design and tape down
3. Place melted chocolate in piping bag and cut a very small hole at the tip end of the piping bag (you can cut the hole bigger if necessary but start with a small hole and increase as needed)
4. Start piping the melted chocolate directly onto the design
5. Let harden in the refrigerator 10-15 mins
6. Remove and carefully lift design from wax paper and turn over...the smooth side is the top. You can then use the writing pens to outline your design if you want. And Viola!
Here are some pictures of my own creation! Just place these bad boys on top of your favorite homemade cupcake and ta-da I present to you....Chuck E Cheese cupcakes!
And the best part...they are EDIBLE!!!!

Welcome!
Welcome fellow C.S.I-ers! Let me take a few moments just to introduce myself to you. First, thank you for visiting my blog! After much much debate, I decided to start this thing in order to share with you my creative smorgasbord of ideas! I do ALOT of crafty things from baking to jewelry making. I am a TOTAL DIYer! It all started with good ol' Pinterest! I fell in love with Pinterest shortly after it came out because it is FULL of creative ideas! After posting much of my own creations on Pinterst, several inquires about HOW I made something have come up. So...BLOG TIME! That's why I decided to create a simple blog to share my creative smorgasbord of ideas. Ok so maybe that didn't tell you anything whatsoever about myself BUT...who is interested in that? Ok, ok...Small tidbits about myself. My name is Megan and I live and work in Southern Maryland. I graduated from Stevenson University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. I have a HUGE love for CSI and forensics...hence the relation to the blog name! See, creative, right? I take classes all the time from West Virginia University to help broaden my horizon on the forensic world. And maybe, one day, I will actually have the time and the money to go back to school for my Master's degree. But anywho, I'm just going to jump right into this thing and see what happens. Oh and PS. I am NOT one for posting on the regular...just like my creations I do them for F.U.N and on my time! Once you get past that...then it's WORK...and NOONE likes work. So bare with me as I figure this thing out. Oh and Enjoy!
